We just do

Remember that we speak without using our mouth.
That we point without using the finger.
That we trust without knowing why.
We just do unexplainable things, hoping our counterparts will pick up the signal and answer.
We use words to describe the now, but what’s deep inside has been locked away like it’s been written in another language that we don’t know how to translate.
We just do things like trees just start to blossom, but just know that their leaves will fall too, and they’ll stand naked in the cold.
We shake ourselves like a bottle of soda and be scared to remove the lid cause it will erupt.
We throw insults at each other as entertainment when the borders haven’t yet been mapped.
Our bodies are like graveyards with boxes of past buried beneath the surface, bewildered in damp moss and beautiful flowers.
We rarely look into our own eyes

and speak.
